It is important to aware guardian to make internet safe for kids- Prabeer Sarkar, CEO, Kaspersky Bangladesh

Publish On : 29/11/2017

We cannot keep our kids away from technology and internet. But we can make it safe to use knowing about the details of the cyber security ourselves. And there is nothing but awareness can make it happen. It is our social responsibility to work for awareness where media has an important role to play and government also needs to put more in cyber security campaign. Finally, the guardians of the kids need to possess the proper knowledge of security concern to keep their kids safe in using internet---said Parbeer Sarkar , CEO , Kaspersky Bangladesh addressing the media in the soft launching program of Kaspersky “Safe Kids” service for the national market held today at Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum(BIJF) conference room , Dhaka .

Parents of the IT savvy younger generation in Bangladesh should now be able to take a sigh of some relief. Oflcextracts, the distributor of Kaspersky Lab in Bangladesh organized a Press Conference at the BIJF conference room today to launch the security solution product.

Kaspersky is the most popular name in cyber security in Bangladesh. It is trusted by most. “We responded to the demand of time and it was also part of our responsibility” said     Mr. Prabeer Sarkar, CEO of the distribution operations. He referred to the plight of concerned parents during the recent hype on Blue Whale, adding that parents were already getting more and more concerned as the children were already engaging, adopting and merging with the digital life style. The Internet is already a part of their education and activity. It has its good and bad. But avoiding or not having access to the Internet is not a solution. Awareness and security online can keep the children safe. Kaspersky Safe Kids is a focused and specialized solution to child safety on the net.

Kaspersky Safe Kids keeps children away from digital dangers. It guards against online risks, helps manage a child’s device usage time, and keeps parents posted on the child’s location real-time, alerting the parents on mobile phones if the child crosses a specified safe zone. It helps monitor a child’s public facebook activity, android calls and SMS messages. It is one package that can help you in protecting and monitoring your child in a digital world.

“Awareness is the primary step to cyber security. Kaspersky will be campaigning a lot in Bangladesh for child safety on the net. But Safe Kids is going to be a revolutionary product or tool for parents to keep their children safe. To keep an eye on them. To mentor them against the bad influences of the net. I am very excited to be introducing this solution for parents in Bangladesh today. It is a relief for the parents. They no longer need to bar their children from the Internet.” – Mr. Sarkar quoted. And added “Again Kaspersky Lab has taken a pioneering role. Introducing safety for kids in this country. Spearheading a trend. Meeting the demands of a growing concern. We will have a separate support channel for Safe Kids where parents will be able to consult on this product and how to effectively use it. And in the coming months we will be campaigning hard for Safe kids in a digital Bangladesh.”

The products and services will be available for all in the local market by the second or third week of next December.
