Bangladesh-Sri Lanka to Work in Collaboration for ICT

Bangladesh-Sri Lanka agreed to work together in ICT sector. As per this collaboration between the two countries, mutual cooperation and experiences are to be shared for the development of ICT sector in the respective countries.

A ‘Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)’ has been signed in this regard on July 14, 2017. ICT State Minister Zuni Ahmed Palak signed the MoU on Bangladesh government’s behalf.

After a bilateral meeting held between the Sri Lankan delegation led by Maithripala Sirisena, the Sri Lankan President on tour to Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi delegation led by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, two agreements and 13 MoUs were signed between the two countries and the MoU regarding ICT is one of them.

As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on which issues the two countries are up to cooperate and share experiences is still uninformed.

Sri Lankan President also visited our President Md. Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban. During the visit, both the presidents discussed on various issues. President Md. Abdul Hamid also convened to mutually utilize the trade-investment prospects between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in ICT sector too, along with others.
