To share the advanced technology and knowledge regarding cyber security and its impact among regional ICT experts, a two day-long ‘SAARC Tech Summit 2017’ is going to be held Dhaka on August 11 and 12, 2017 at the Westin Hotel, Dhaka. A press conference on this occasion has been organized at National Press Club by CTO Forum Bangladesh and INFOCOM Kolkata. This is the 2nd time that such kind of arrangement is to be held in Bangladesh.
CTO Forum President Tapan Kanti Sarkar shared the detailed about the objective of the summit along with relevant issues in the press conference. In his speech, he said-Cyber Security is now a ‘talk of the town’ throughout the world. Technology is getting changed rapidly and besides, there exists numbers of threats too. Therefore, technologists always have to remain conscious to confront these challenges. Such conference will play a significant role in this regard, as I believe. I also do believe that experts from different countries will be able to enrich each other with information-knowledge in confronting cyber security challenges through internal knowledge sharing.
The tech summit will be inaugurated by the Chief Guest Tarana Halim, MP, Post and Telecommunication Ministry, Govt. of People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Besides her, Acting Secretary of ICT Division Mr. Subir Kishore Choudhury, former ICT Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder and Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Mr. Kabir Bin Anwar will also be present at the inauguration ceremony as special guests.
Besides Tapan Kanti Sarkar, Mr. Dr. Ijazul Haque, General Secretary, CTO Forum Bangladesh, Mr. S.A.R Md. Muinul Islam, Treasurer, CTO Forum Bangladesh, Mr. Abdur Rafi, Chief Manager – IT Infrastructure of Anandabazar Magazine India & CISO, Mr. Debdulal Roy, Vice President, CTO Forum Bangladesh, Mr. Md. Arfe Elahi Manik, Joint Secretary, CTO Forum Bangladesh, Mr. Mohammad Ali, Joint Secretary, CTO Forum Bangladesh and other members of CTO Forum were also present in the press conference.
This two day-long tech summit organized jointly by CTO Forum Bangladesh and INFOCOM India in association with SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry will consist of different latest IT based discussions and seminars on security issues and opportunities of digital business in IT usage, as Tapan Kanti Sarkar stated in the press conference.
Such event has been organized to strengthen country’s internal relationship with the other member countries of SAARC as well as to experience IT based development of the countries. Total nine IT based seminars and symposiums are to be held in this two day-long summit.
Numbers of local and foreign prominent technologists are likely to participate the event. The summit will remain opened for all starting from 2:30 pm to 9:00 pm on the first day and on the following day, the event will be up to 9:00 pm starting from 9:00 am. Several issues like Big Data, Cloud Computing, Digital Business Security and Power of Plastic Money are to be emphasized on the IT based seminars in the summit. Such event will help the local technologists to achieve experience and enhancing their skills as well, as the organizers think.
