Copyright registration now can be done in online and so, the people will get standard services without sufferings and similarly, on the other hand, digital archive of copyright will get established.
Honorable Minister of Cultural Affairs to the Government of Bangladesh Mr. Asaduzzaman Nur inaugurated ‘Online Copyright Registration System of e-Copyright Program’ at Prime Minister’s office on August 23, 2017. a2i Program in association with Copyright Office has organized this program.
Principal Secretary to the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Choudhury, Cultural Secretary Ibrahim Hossain Khan and other superior government officials were present in the program presided over by Director General (Administration) in Prime Minister’s Office and Project Director of a2i Program Mr. Kabir Bin Anwar.
Apart from them, BASIS President Mustafa Jabbar, Popular Singer Ayub Bachchu, Suvra Deb and other representatives from different sectors including IT were also present.
Speakers from different sectors said in the program that traditional copyright system doesn’t go with the current age and is not sustainable too.
It is really very difficult to have copyright for the people outside Dhaka, especially those who belong to the divisional cities and the rural areas. Resultantly, it becomes very tough and time consuming to find out dummy of the copyright of literature, music, software and many more. Besides, the proportion of having copyright is very poor due to the lack of awareness and promotion of the importance of copyright.
