Government has taken vast initiatives to bring all the government offices concerned to commerce under automated system and right now businessmen can work on commerce related issues in online. Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed stated all this in a discussion held at the Head Office of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), in Bangkok, Thailand on August 29, 2017.
In this discussion on regional business expansion through effective usage of digital economy, the Commerce Minister said- Office of the Chief Controller of Exports-Imports, Joint Capital companies and farms, export development bureau including other offices concerned to commerce are all now under automated system.
Minister also shared with media that Bangladesh is the first signing country in case of the agreement regarding simplification infrastructure of paperless commerce. China and Cambodia also signed the agreement just next to Bangladesh. Source-Prothom Alo
