Aiming to have information of all the Rohingya refugees, procedure to their biometric registration has been initiated on September 11, 2017. The registration procedure began at 8:45 pm on the same day through collecting finger print and clicking photograph of a woman named Sufia Khatun. This registration program is running in Kutupalong Camp. Secretary General of Passport Directorate was present during registration.
Apart from the newly entering 3 lakh refugees, the older ones are also to be registered through this biometric system, as Passport Directorate informed.
This registration program will keep continuing at 12 refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to visit numbers of refugee camps today.
