4G Guideline Gets PM's Approval

Finally, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given her approval officially for 4G Guideline. After having the approval, it had been sent to Post and Telecommunication Division from Prime Minister’s Office. Telecommunication Division has already forwarded it to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

It is one of the remarkable progress in case of introducing 4G services in the country. As the guideline got finalized, we will try to go for an auction in 90 days, said the BTRC officials.

Previously, 4G License fee getting reduced has been fixed taka 100 million as per the amended guideline. Simultaneously, the license renewal fee got fixed taka 50 million every year. Earlier, the fees were respectively taka 150 million and 75 million. Later, the fees were included in the policy after an amendment.

According to the approved guideline, in the spectrum auction, the floor price of 900 and 1800 band will be $30 million and for 2100 band, the cost would be $20 million and 70 lakh.
