Due to some strategic mistakes, Telecom sector of Bangladesh is now being controlled by multinational companies, but the telecom sector of our neighboring country India is being operated by the local companies. ICT Division won’t repeat the mistakes committed by telecom sector for which the whole sector is now under multinational companies’ control, as stated ICT Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak in a knowledge sharing discussion with Telecom Reporters’ Network Bangladesh (TRNB) held at ICT Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka on November 26, 2017.
Digital Security Act is likely to be fixed by November 29, 2017, as informed ICT State Minister. He said-All the concerned personnel provided their best effort to develop the act. Moreover, a rationalized Digital Security act has been developed that will be considered an idol one for the other countries of the world.
In the meeting, Zunaid Palak also added- ICT Division is working on developing a new policy named ‘Innovation Policy’. Impacts of ICT are now inevitable in all sectors including education, health and sports. This policy is being developed so that ICT gets added before the amendment of any policies. ICT Division is working on the amendment of e-Commerce policy too, as informed the State Minister. Source-Prothom Alo
