The finalists’ list has been announced for “eGeneration presents Startup World Cup 2019, Bangladesh” by Fenox Venture Capital on Tuesday. Fenox Venture Capital, a top venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley, ranked 16th in the latest global ranking of Mattermark Seed Stage while eGeneration Ltd. works on cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing.  Through this competition, for the first time this year, one Bangladeshi technology startup will be getting the opportunity to represent Bangladesh and compete in Startup World Cup Grand Finale, the global technology startup pitch competition with an investment prize of $1,000,000. The regional competition in Bangladesh is being co-organized by Bangladesh Innovation Forum (BIF) and partnered by Venture Capital and Private Equity Association of Bangladesh (VCPEAB), TiE Dhaka and EO Bangladesh. This initiative also has ICT Division as the Spporting partner, UNDP as the Knowledge Partner and RTV as Media Partner.

In a 2-day long preliminary round, 36 startups selected from a large applicant pool through primary screening, presented their business to an expert and independent judging panel. Based on the preliminary round, the jury evaluated and selected the following 10 startups to advance to the finale, listed in alphabetical order: Bongo, Gaze, Gemsclip, Handymama, Hellotask, Jobike, Repto, Solshare, Amar Astha and Zantrik. The judges for the preliminary round include Shawkat Hossain, Managing Director, BD Venture Ltd.; Jenni Risku, Founder, Women in Tech; Minhaz Anwar, Head of Startup Ecosystem, GP Accelerator; Ramzi Farah, General Partner, Razor Capital; Ariful Hasan Opu, Founder, Bangladesh Innovation Forum; and Masa Isano, Principal, Defta Partners.

The finale gala of the competition will be held on Saturday evening. During the event the top 10 finalists of the competition will pitch to judging panel and live audience, the winner and 2 runner-ups will be selected. The Bangladesh champion from this finale will be joining 40+ other regional champions in the Grand Finale in Silicon Valley, USA for the investment prize.
