Two tech companies in the country have won awards in two categories at the ‘ASOCIO Digital Summit 2023’ organized by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), the largest IT organization in the Asian-Oceanian region. Digicon Technologies Limited won in the Outstanding Tech Company category while TechGarlic won in the Startup category.
ASOCIO Chairman Brian Sinn presented the crests and certificates of appreciation to the award winners at the Awards Night on the second day of ASOCIO Digital Summit 2023 in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. On this occasion, BCS President Engineer Subrata Sarkar Life Chairman of ASOCIO, and former BCS President Abdullah H Kafi and others were present.
A total of 52 awards were presented in 6 categories at the award ceremony. Representatives of the IT sector of 24 countries participated in this conference. The awards are organized annually by the association for countries in the Asia and Oceania region. It is considered a prestigious award in the IT sector for the region. Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) is the only member of the Association of Asian-Oceania region of the information technology sector in the country. Every year, BCS nominates various projects that play a special role in information technology for this accolade of association.
Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) President Subrata Sarkar talked about Bangladesh’s achievements at the ASOCIO Digital Summit, Digital Asia was announced today. As a result, 24 Asian countries will work together to develop Digital Asia. Bangladesh also has many opportunities to work in Digital Asia. Two organizations from Bangladesh have received the award, which is a big achievement for Smart Bangladesh.
Abdullah H Kafi, lifetime chairman of the association, said, “Two institutions of Bangladesh have received the award and it has become possible to highlight the capabilities of Bangladesh’s information technology sector to the world. The role of IT organizations of the country including BCS in international events is commendable as always.
A 12-member Bangladesh delegation led by BCS President Engineer Subrata Sarkar participated in this conference held on November 13-15, 2023 in Seoul, South Korea. BCS President Engineer Subrata Sarkar, Co-opt Vice Chairman of ASOCIO, and Mr. Gautam Saha, Managing Director of Excel Technologies Ltd. joined the meeting. Eng. Subrata Sarkar expressed his opinion on the progress and future plan for information technology in Asia and the Oceanian region.
