Mobile operator Banglalink earned a total of Tk. 1,588 crore in the third quarter of this year. 28 percent of this revenue came from data. Banglalink earned Tk. 1,379 crore in the third quarter of last year with an increase of 11.6 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Then Banglalink’s income from data increased by 21.4 percent.
Accordingly, compared to the same quarter last year, Banglalink has earned 15.1 percent more this year. And the proportional rate of revenue growth from data has also increased to over 6 percent.
According to the unaudited financial report, Banglalink’s income in the first quarter of this year is Tk. 1,480 crore. In the second quarter, this income increased to Tk. 1,530 crores. And in the third quarter, the income increased by another 58 crore taka.
In addition, the annual growth of 4G users has been 31 percent. The number of Toffee users increased by 72.2 percent this year compared to last year. In total, the operator has managed to maintain double-digit growth for six consecutive quarters.
Erik Aas, Chief Executive Officer of Banglalink, presented the third quarter earnings at Tigers Den in Gulshan on Tuesday. Banglalink’s Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman and Banglalink’s Chief Financial Officer Cem Velipasaoglu highlighted the story behind this streak of financial growth.
It was informed in the press conference that in the last one year, the growth rate of the operator’s super app MyBL subscribers is 48 percent. Its users have increased to 7.5 million.
