BASIS Election is going to be held with the current schedule on March 31. Former BASIS President and current Post, Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar has solved the issue regarding calling off the election. Considering the request of Mustafa Jabbar, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has assured to withdraw the decision to call off the election taken from the Commerce Ministry, as Mustafa Jabbar ensured the media.

A representing team including BASIS President Almas Kabir, former BASIS President Mahbub Zaman met Mustafa Jabbar on Tuesday night regarding the issue of calling off BASIS election. Even, BASIS Director Mostafizur Rahman Sohel and Delowar Hossain Faruq also met the minister regarding the same issue. They requested the minister to solve the matter.

After having discussion with all, Mustafa Jabbar gave a phone call to Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed. He assured the Commerce Minister that new committee will come up with solutions for the current issues of BASIS. So, he requested to take initiative holding BASIS Election on March 31 withdrawing the decision taken by DTO.
