Aiming to present the current scenario of Business Process Outsourcing or BPO sector in local and global market, ‘BPO Summit Bangladesh 2018’ is going to take place for the third time on April 15 & 16. Considering the event, a press conference was organized at the Seminar Hall of Software Technology Park in Janata Tower, Karwan Bazar, Dhaka on April 3, 2018.

Honorable Post, Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present in the press conference as chief guest. There he said- Government has taken different initiatives to progress our ICT sector and is also likely to provide internet connections in all the unions and enclaves by this year. Currently, our major problem is to create employment opportunities for the literate unemployed people. Even, our government is also about to introduce 5G in the country.  

Director General of ICT Directorate A K M Khairul Alam said- Different initiatives for technological development purpose have already been taken by the government and more initiatives are to be taken in future.

Focusing on the details of BPO Summit, President of Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) Wahid Sharif said- General people didn’t have much ideas regarding BPO sector in the year 2015. But, due two the last two events of BPO Summit, everyone now is informed about the sector. I hope, the summit will play a significant role for the development in BPO sector, as he added.  

Additional Secretary of ICT Division Md. Mamun-Al-Rashid, Senior Vice President of BACCO Abul Khayer, Joint Secretary Md. Aminul Haq and others were also present in the press conference moderated by the General Secretary of BACCO Mr. Touhid Hossain.

The two day long event will take place at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. ICT Advisor to the Prime Minister Mr. Sajeeb Wazed Joy is to be present as chief guest in the inauguration ceremony of BPO Summit 2018, as it was informed in the press conference.

This year Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT), ISP Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) and Bangladesh Mobile Phone Importers Association (BMPIA) are also involved in the summit as partners.
