Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy gave his decision to implement this call rate in a meeting on telecom sector held at Ganabhaban on August 1. Post, Telecommunication and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar, Telecommunication Secretary, Acting Chairman of BTRC, Commissioner, AMTOB Secretary General and CEO from different mobile phone operators were also present in the meeting.
According to the concerned personnel, subscribers will get relaxed due to implementation of this call rate and it will reduce their costs on talking over mobile phones. On the other hand, if MNP is introduced once, individual on net and off net call rate may create an unequal competition in the market. But, it can be avoided if the call rate is similar.
