Teletalk is set to launch 4G network coving a lot of areas.
It may, according to the operator, minimize the gap with its competitors in the 4G race.
About nine months after the having the license, the operator has ensured the fourth-generation mobile network in different areas including capital Dhaka and Bangabandhu's birth place Tungipara.
In the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, the operator said at the beginning, around five hundred towers were developed for 4G network while working in on to improve five hundred more towers for the service soon.
Earlier in September, the operator has brought Dhanmondi of Dhaka under 4G network. Later the service has been ensured also in Tungipara of Gopalganj. Teletalk told the committee that the project was being implemented at Tk 987 crore by its own fund.
Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that the 3G extension project of the operator was turned into 4G expansion. As a result, Teletalk can be prepared properly for the 4G network. '
It is tough for Teletalk with investment of Tk 3900 crore to compete one operator with Tk 40,000 crore investment. But people have still confidence in Teletalk for quality service. Teletalk has been rearranged in the last nine months. Many of its projects have been expedited through funding. Money has also been disbursed for creating network in remote areas, the minister added.
