A seminar on 'Future Skills-Finding Emerging Skills to tackle the Challenges of Automation in Bangladesh' against the splendid initiative of Study work was held today (Wednesday) by Access to Information (a2i) under the ICT Division of Bangladesh Government at the Banquet Hall of Daffodil International University (DIU). Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan (PAA), Project Director, Access to Information Program (a2i) under the ICT Division of Bangladesh Government was present as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University presided over the seminar. H.M. Asad-Uz-Zaman, Policy Specialist (Skill for Employment) Access to Information Program (a2i) under the ICT Division of Bangladesh was the keynote speaker of seminar.  Mr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Daffodil Family, Professor Dr. Engr. A. K. M. Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, DIU, Mr. K M Hasan Ripon, Adviser, BSDI also spoke in the seminar. All Deans, Associate Deans and Heads of different departments of Daffodil International University were the participants of the seminar,

While addressing Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan (PAA), expressed his interest to introduce some innovative projects in collaboration with DIU and focused on resource sharing under public-private partnership to meet upcoming challenges of 4IR.

Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, of DIU stressed on forming a joint taskforce to make collaboration between a2i of ICT Division, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Daffodil International University. The decision was wholeheartedly welcomed by the representatives of a2i and DIU. The aim of this initiative is to explore new horizons and look after the progress of tasks, to be underscored by relevant departments of DIU focusing the 'Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0)' and to engage DIU students to integrate through developing their ability of thinking in this domain. Moreover the taskforce will also design plan and monitor the overall deliverable. Apart from that the DIU Innovation Lab will also integrate with Future Thinking Lab of a2i.  

Mr. H.M. Asad-Uz-Zaman, Policy Specialist (Skill for Employment) Access to Information Program (a2i) at his keynote presentation stressed on fostering dramatic changes in the global economy and in production, the indicated impact of automation in the enterprises and workers within five major sectors: Readymade Garment and Textile, Agro-food,Furniture, Tourism & Hospitality and Leather & Footwear. It also stressed the study findings of "alarming situation in Bangladesh because technologlt will take over some jobs and also create new ones and the only way to cope up with the world is through adaptation. The adaptation comes with the skilled labor force, and skilled not only in one particular work but also in different dynamics technical and professional skills, including ICT skills
