To reduce the dependence on imports and earn foreign exchange, Smart Technologies BD is now focusing on manufacturing the product locally. For that purpose, Sony's factory building activities have started under the leadership of Smart Technologies in two plots of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park in Gazipur Kaliakoir. Hopefully, the construction will be done by the end of 2023.
Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Managing Director, Smart Technologies BD limited said in the introduction program of Sony Bravia Television arranged by Smart Technologies BD Limited on yesterday in a local hotel in Dhaka.
Mr. Zahid Faruk, MP, Honorable State Minister, Ministry of. Water Resources, People's Republic of Bangladesh was present at the program as chief guest. Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki, Atsushi Andhra, President, Sony Southeast Asia, Shafiqul Islam, Additional Director General of Police, Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Managing Director, Smart Technologies BD Limited, and Majharul Islam, Chairman, Smart Technologies BD Limited were present at the program as special guests.
Sharing the special features of Sony Bravia, Atsushi Andhra, president, of Sony Southeast Asia, said, "We are much more concerned about customer satisfaction than sales." And we believe that the Sony Bravia K series will meet the expectations of Bangladeshi consumers.
Shafiqul Islam, Additional Director General of Police, said, "Bangladesh is a safe country to invest in and we are very careful about the investment safety and gray market."
According to Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki, the Bangladeshi market is promising for us to invest in because of its large consumer population. We are interested in investing in Bangladesh. We have already invested in Bangladesh and are establishing an economic zone titled " Bangladesh Specialized Economic Zone." It is the first time that Japan invested in an economic zone named Bangladesh. We believe the business relationship between Sony and Bangladesh will be stronger than before.
Addressing the audience, the chief guest said that the Bangladesh government is planning to establish 100 industrial zones across the country. Bangladesh is a progressing country and the initiative of Smart Technologies BD Limited is proof of it. To achieve the target of a developing country, we need to be dedicated and honest in our responsibilities. On the other hand, Sony is a popular brand in Bangladesh. If we could manufacture it locally, then the product would be more affordable.
It was announced on the occasion that following the official unveiling, there will be 7 different screen sizes of the Sony Bravia K series, making a total of 18 models, including 2 OLED models of 55 inch and 65 inches, available in the domestic market. Among these, Smart Technologies has released K series TVs on the market in sizes ranging from 32 to 85 inches.
