The government will provide high-speed broadband internet connections to 65,567 government primary schools across the country. Installation work has already been completed in nearly 18 thousand of these schools. Initiatives have been undertaken to swiftly complete the connections in the remaining schools.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Directorate, under the ICT Division, is responsible for implementing the project titled ‘Establishing Digital Connectivity (1st Revised)’.

To ensure all schools receive internet connectivity within the project deadline, which is this upcoming June, local internet service providers (ISPs) have been instructed to continue their operations even on public holidays. For this purpose, ISP companies have been asked to prepare upazila-based work plans and inform the concerned Upazila Education Officer and the head teacher of the respective school at least three days in advance.
