Journalist and IT entrepreneur Md Mostafa Khan, Managing Director of Khan IT Host, has been awarded the Mother Teresa Golden Award 2025 for his outstanding contributions to the country’s information technology sector.
The award was formally presented on Saturday (30 August) at a ceremony organised by the Mother Teresa Research Welfare Council at the Economic Reporters Forum auditorium in Dhaka’s Paltan Tower.
The chief guest, Supreme Court Justice Sikdar Mokbul Haque, handed over the honour. Former Additional Secretary of the Finance Ministry Pirzada Shahidul Harun and other dignitaries were also present.
Khan received the award in recognition of his innovative IT initiatives, including the development of websites and software for educational institutions, as well as his efforts to inspire young people to pursue careers in technology.
As head of Khan IT Host, he has been active in website development, digital platform creation, and school management software solutions. His company has earned a strong reputation for bringing web services to districts and sub-districts across Bangladesh.
“This recognition is not mine alone, but the result of the hard work and dedication of my entire team,” Khan said after receiving the award. “We are committed to further enhancing the image of Bangladesh in the global technology sector.”
The organisers noted that Khan was honoured for his contributions to IT innovation, entrepreneurship development, and his role in advancing Digital Bangladesh. Khan IT Host is also a general member of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).
Over the years, Mostafa Khan has received multiple national and international honours, including the Human Rights Peace Award (2021), Justice Syed Mahbub Morshed Memorial Gold Medal (2021), Sher-e-Bangla Golden Award (2022), National Youth Day Nazrul Honour (2022), and the Ektara Bijoy Utsab Honour. In May 2023, he was also recognised at the Indo-Bangla-Nepal International Media Conference in Agra, India.
Mostafa Khan currently serves as an adviser and former president of the Raipura Press Club in Narsingdi.
