Apple still hasn't announced the Powerbeats 4, but one Walmart store doesn't care to wait any longer and decided to start selling the earbuds before they're official.
9to5Mac reports that Twitter user @eddiezus spotted the product in Rochester, New York. He didn't purchase a unit, but the shared photograph (seen above) reveals Apple plans to roll out three colors. It'll introduce the Powerbeats 4 in white, black, and red.
In terms of features, the Powerbeats will offer 15 hours of battery life and the same H1 chip found in Apple's AirPods Pro. Apple improved internals, but it also tweaked the design with curves similar to the Powerbeats Pro. Leaked promotional materials suggest the Powerbeats 4 usher in "ergonomic comfort" and better durability. If you're not interested in the AirPods Pro and want a workout-friendly alternative, the Powerbeats 4 might just be the best option.
Walmart's site doesn't list the Powerbeats 4; however, as for the price in Rochester, this location is selling Apple's unannounced product for $149. That's $50 less than the existing Powerbeats 3. But, without an official release, it's unclear if that price serves as a placeholder or not. Consumers wouldn't mind a lower price tag, though.
Nobodys knows when Apple will announce the Powerbeats 4, but it's a good sign that a Walmart store placed the product out for sale. Let's see if Apple introduces the earbuds within the next few days or weeks as units are distributed in the United States.
