Two Bangladeshi teams – BRACU Crows from BRAC University and SUST Fanatics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology – represented Bangladesh at the 2025 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, held from August 31 to September 5 in Baku, Azerbaijan, and hosted by ADA University.

 

The ICPC is regarded as the world’s premier programming competition, challenging university students to solve complex algorithmic problems within a five-hour time limit.

 

This year’s finals featured 140 teams, selected from a pool of 63,294 students representing 3,307 universities across 93 countries.

 

Both Bangladeshi teams successfully solved five of the twelve problems during the intense contest. BRACU Crows placed 107th globally and 10th in the Asia West region, while SUST Fanatics ranked 120th worldwide and 13th in Asia West.

 

Team BRACU Crows comprised Ruhan Habib, Arman Ferdous, and Md. Mazed Hossain, with Kabbya Kantam Patwari serving as coach. Team SUST Fanatics included Najmul Hasan Nayeem, Alfeh Sani, and Sarwar Rifat, coached by Abid Hossain Mishal.

 

St. Petersburg State University of Russia claimed the ICPC 2025 World Finals championship title.
