Bangladesh has rolled out a digital system for registering marriages and divorces, in a reform move that also eliminates gender-discriminatory provisions from existing laws.

According to a statement on the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser to the Government of Bangladesh, the new platform allows citizens to complete registration procedures online, removing the need to visit offices in person.

Authorities said the initiative is expected to save time and money for the public while enhancing transparency and trust in the registration process.
