A puzzling glitch in the well-known social media site has been reported by Facebook users in Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. Users complain that when someone checks their profiles, Facebook mysteriously sends 'automatic friend invitations' to the person. Users who may be affected by this problem have begun talking about it and drawing attention to it because it may jeopardize their privacy and control. The bug seems to happen when a user sees the profile of another user, causing the visitor to send an uninvited friend request to the owner of the profile. Users are concerned about possible breaches of personal boundaries and the infringement of digital permission as a result of this unexpected and uninvited behavior.

As of the time of filing this report, Facebook has remained silent on the matter, withholding an official statement or acknowledgment of the bug's existence
