South Korea has announced that the punishment for leaking various secret information of the technology industry will be tougher than before. They are going to make this decision because the current law does not have enough protection for big technology companies like Samsung.

Analysts say that when South Korean technical information is leaked, it usually finds its way to China. In recent months, South Korea has been seen to be taking tough measures against leaks from the technology sector in order to maintain its position in the memory chip and display sector.

South Korea’s industry minister said in a statement that this month the ‘Sentencing Commission’ under the Supreme Court of South Korea decided to make the punishment for South Korean technology leaks tougher than before, as well as extend the prison term. And by the year 2024, the details of the guidelines related to this new sentence may be published, according to Reuters.
