On Saturday, January 27, the Orientation Program for the fresher students of Spring Semester 2024 of Daffodil International University took place in a colorful festive ambiance. 

In Daffodil Smart City, the students were the main focus of the Orientation Program held at the university’s Independence Conference Center; so, there was no chief guest in the ceremony. However, 6 guests were invited; 4 of whom are renowned cultural workers of this country like eminent dramatist, actor, and writer Brindavan Das, actress Shahnaz Khushi, Assistant Professors of Dhaka University’s Faculty of Dance Tamanna Rahman and Dibya Jyoti, and 2 other university alumni BTRC senior assistant director Tausif Shahriar and Prothom Alo senior photojournalist Sabina Yasmin.

The Vice-Chancellor of Daffodil International University, Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman welcomed the freshers in his speech.

While delivering his words to the parents, he said, “We have accepted with due responsibility and sincerity that you have chosen Daffodil International University for your children’s higher education from a place of hope and trust. Keeping this trust and faith unbroken, providing humane and institutional education to the newcomers is now our prime concern”.

The students who had just entered the university roamed around the campus in a joyful vibe since morning. In their joy, the green campus of Daffodil Smart City stirred with a new color and the taste of innovation. At Orientation Program Spring 2024, the freshers started their university life in a joyful manner with singing and dancing.

At the beginning of the program, the Director of Student Affairs Dr. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju encouraged the freshers to conduct the program and exchanged ideas with the freshers about university life and also imparted an idea about the various institutional rules of the university. 

The guests also responded by addressing the freshers and giving away prizes to the winners of the ‘Learn and Win’ quiz competition. The event ended with the joint presentation of Nabila Islam, a freshman from the Department of Agriculture, and Mobaswera Islam Mithi, a freshman from the Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering, and the participation of the new students in the cultural program. Later, the human logo titled “SKILL” was created with the participation of fresh students.
