South Korean tech giant Huawei is working on its own ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Recently, a patent application related to this has been published. Most companies currently use Goodix’s technology. But it is prohibited due to Qualcomm’s patent.

Huawei’s patent application has been published titled Ultrasonic Fingerprint Recognition Module, System and Electronic Device.

According to those concerned, here is the information of a new sensor which will help in quick and accurate fingerprint identification.

Currently, ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are being used in several high-end smartphones besides Samsung’s S series. However, the use of these solutions is limited due to Qualcomm’s patent application.

According to Huawei’s patent application, the company is working on developing its own ultrasonic fingerprint recognition technology to reduce dependence on other companies.
