Information Technologist Mustafa Jabbar has taken oath as minister. Honorable President Mohammad Abdul Hamid made the new cabinet members taking oath at Bangabhaban on January 2, 2018 at 7 pm. Total four ministers and state-minister including Mustafa Jabbar took oath. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was also present in the program.
Earlier, four official vehicles sent from secretariat took the new cabinet members to Bangabhaban in the afternoon. Therefore, all the new cabinet members reached the destination by 5:30 pm. President Mohammad Abdul Hamid along with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to the Durbar Hall at around 6:30 pm. As per protocol, after making the three ministers swearing the oath, President made the state minister to take the oath.
Due to not being a Member of Parliament (MP), Mustafa Jabbar has been selected as Technocrat in the cabinet. He is likely to get the responsibilities of the Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and IT Affairs.
