The Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB) has awarded scholarships and educational supplies to the children of its members under the “Scholarship 2024” initiative. The ceremony was held on Friday at the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of the Social Sciences Faculty, Dhaka University. A total of 41 students from pre-primary, primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels received scholarships and educational materials.
The event, presided over by TMGB President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin, was attended by prominent guests, including Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil International University and the Daffodil Group, Tanvir Ibrahim, President of the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), Md. Zahirul Islam, Managing Director of Smart Technologies Bangladesh Limited, Wahidul Hasan Dipu, Senior Joint Convener of ECS Computer City, and Redoan Ferdous, Managing Director of Fronttech Limited.
Speaking to the students, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, “Focusing on areas of interest from an early age makes it easier for students to decide their future careers and prepare accordingly.”
Tanvir Ibrahim noted, “Students today are becoming overly attached to mobile phones and other devices. Parents should encourage their children to play outside instead of developing a dependency on gadgets. They should ensure that children use digital devices responsibly.”
Wahidul Hasan Dipu remarked, “Initiatives like this will inspire students to become more interested in their studies.”
Md. Zahirul Islam praised TMGB, stating, “TMGB always takes unique initiatives. This scholarship program will motivate today’s children to become great individuals.”
Redoan Ferdous highlighted the global achievements of Bangladeshi students in robotics, saying, “Bangladesh has been making remarkable strides in the World Robot Olympiad for the past few years. Students interested in robotics can start working on it now. The country already has educational facilities for building robots, as well as tools for young learners to practice.” He welcomed TMGB’s scholarship initiative and pledged his support.
In his closing remarks, TMGB President Mohammad Kawsar Uddin said, “The primary goal of this program is to encourage the children of our members to pursue education. We plan to include even more students under this scholarship initiative in the future.”
The event was moderated by TMGB General Secretary Mursalin Haque Junayed and attended by other TMGB leaders, including Vice President (Member Welfare) Rishad Hasan, Vice President (Government and Corporate Relations) Kumar Bishwajit Roy, Vice President (International) Moidul Islam, Treasurer Mahadi Hasan Shimul, Organizational Secretary Golam Dastagir Touhid, and Executive Member Nazmul Hossain.
