Tesla has announced the recall of nearly 700,000 vehicles due to an issue with the tire pressure monitoring system. According to Engadget, the recall affects the Cybertruck, Model 3, and Model Y cars, with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stating that the warning light for the tire pressure monitoring system may occasionally turn off while driving.
The recall includes the 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles. Tesla has stated that it will address the issue by sending a free software update to the affected vehicles. Notifications will be sent to the owners of the impacted cars by February 15, 2025.
Tesla has faced several recalls in the past year. NHTSA has reported seven recalls for the Cybertruck, which included issues with the rear-view camera, faulty windshield wipers, and loose trunk beds. Additionally, in June, Tesla issued a software update for 1.8 million vehicles, including the 2021-2024 Model 3, S, X, and 2020-2024 Model Y, to address issues with hoods that could open while driving if not properly closed.
