The office bearers for the 2025-27 term of the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) executive council were selected on Sunday from among the seven directors who were elected uncontested.

In the election for distributing the portfolios, Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Managing Director of Smart Technologies, was named President. Md. Wahedul Hassan Dipu, proprietor of Land Mark Computers, was appointed Vice President, and Mohammed Monirul Islam Moni, Managing Director of Computer City Technologies, was declared Secretary General.

For the remaining positions on the executive council, Md. Ahsanul Islam, proprietor of PC Garden, was named Joint Secretary General, and Abul Hasan, proprietor of H M Computers, was announced as Treasurer. The two other elected directors are Md. Iqbal Hossain, proprietor of Jazzy International, and Md. Nazrul Islam Hazari, proprietor of Welkin Computers.

The BCS election board officially announced the names of the seven elected members of the executive council in a notice issued yesterday. The notice was signed by the board’s chairman, Sharif Rayhan Kabir, a Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, and its two members, Sandwip Kumar Sarker, also a Deputy Secretary at the same ministry, and Md. Sirajul Islam, an Assistant Trade Counselor.

According to the election schedule, any objections to the election results must be submitted to the appeal board by June 24. The election board will hold hearings on any submitted appeals from June 25 to 27 and will announce the final results on June 28.
