Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced unprecedented free access to Veo 3, the company’s most advanced AI-powered video creation platform, for the coming weekend.

Previously restricted to subscribers of the AI Pro plan within the Gemini app, Veo 3 will be available to all users without a subscription until Monday morning via the Gemini app on Android and iOS. 

Unveiled at Google I/O 2025, Veo 3 is distinguished by its ability to generate highly cinematic video content complete with synchronized audio—including dialogue, ambient soundscapes, music, and effects—making it a versatile tool for animated shorts, game cutscenes, storyboards, and other creative media formats.

Sundar Pichai characterised the move as a way to “open up creative opportunities for a wider audience,” also framing it as a strategic marketing initiative intended to let the tool’s capabilities demonstrate their own appeal.
