Posts, Telecommunications and IT Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the more the offences will increase in digital fields, the more the necessity of Digital Security Act will be required.
The minister, as the chief guest, was addressing the opening ceremony of a Five Star mobile phone assembling factory in Choydana area under Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Friday (Oct 12).
“The terms we have with Facebook, we can identify if there is any fake ID (account). If it is reported, Facebook helps us to remove it,” the minister said regarding Bangladesh’s ties with the social media giant.
“But, we won’t be dependent on Facebook only. Our own eligibility is growing”
“(We) hope our efficiency will reach such an extent in mid-November that we can meet-up the entire (process),” he added.
The minister inspected various sections of the factory and expressed satisfaction.
GCC Mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Acting Chairman Md Jahirul Haque, Commissioner Aminul Islam, Director General Md Nasim Parvez and Five Star Mobile Manufacturer Chairman Md Oliullah and Head of Business Operation Md Bashir Uddin, among others, were present.
Minister Mustafa Jabbar further said the infrastructure has been constructed in Bangladesh so that a local brand can take lead in the entire world.
