Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) opened a Facebook page - ‘RAB-Cyber News Verification Center' in a bid to prevent circulation of fake news and propaganda in cyber world ahead of the 11th national election slated for December 30.
“Through this page, any piece of news can be verified easily,” Benazir Ahmed, Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion, told media on Thursday (December 27).
A Facebook page namely ‘RAB-Cyber News Verification Center' has been opened today. Should you find any piece of news, information, or video suspicious, and contact the page, we’ll give you feedback immediately after verifying it, the DG said.
“A team will perform this duty continuously. Any vain efforts made to mislead countrymen will be deterred by the team,” DG added.
Besides, 10,000 RAB members will be deployed across the country to perform security tasks. 57 special camps have been established. 4 helicopters will remain on the alert to ferry RAB’s special force to any corner of the country in case of necessity.
At RAB’s media center in the capital, the DG was briefing media about their preparation concerning security ahead of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad election.
