Bangladesh Fintech Summit, the flagship event of Bangladesh Brand Forum, took place at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden Hotel in the capital from Saturday morning. Bangladesh Fintech Forum organized 4 keynote sessions, 3 panel discussions, 4 insight sessions, 1 case study, 1 fireside chat and 1 conversation in the conference with the participation of experts, practitioners and policy makers from the banking and finance sector from home and abroad.

Experts discussed the theme of ‘Shaping Bangladesh Fintech Ecosystem for the Future’ or preparing Bangladesh’s fintech sector for the future in various sessions throughout the day. One of the objectives of the event was to highlight the changing potential of Bangladesh in terms of fintech innovation and develop a direction to further expand fintech innovation.

In his opening speech of the event, the Founder of Bangladesh Fintech Forum and Founder and Managing Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum, Shariful Islam said, “Fintech sector has an important role to play in realizing Smart Bangladesh Vision. One of the pillars of Smart Bangladesh, the country’s fintech is a major contributor to the smart economy. Bangladesh Fintech Forum is working to advance the country’s fintech industry through policy formulation and various participatory programs. We are hopeful that today’s discussions and exchange of mutual experiences will open up new horizons for this promising sector of the country.”

The various discussions of the 4th Fintech Summit have become relevant in the direction of changes in the banking sector in the digital era, the necessary steps for the development of Fintech innovation in Bangladesh, the possibilities and the various aspects of the implementation of the global trends, the importance of Blockchain in the development of Fintech, and the multifaceted initiatives to enrich the Fintech sector of Smart Bangladesh Vision.

Zaytun Business Consultants Chairperson Arfan Ali; Ankur Digital Limited Chairman Benjamin Quinlan; AustCham, CEO and Managing Director, Quinlan Associates; PwC Bangladesh Country Clients and Markets Lead Mamun Rashid and Open Network for Digital Commerce Senior Vice President (Financial Services) Hrishikesh Mehta were present as keynote speakers at the summit.
