Daffodil International University (DIU) and Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) are jointly organizing the first-ever "AI Olympiad 2025" in Bangladesh, which will take place on April 12 at Daffodil Plaza in Dhanmondi.
The registration for the Olympiad will begin on February 20 and will continue until March 15. The assessment phase will run from March 16 to March 25, and the grand finale of the AI Olympiad will be held on April 12, 2025.
At a "Meet the Press" event held on Tuesday (February 18, 2025) afternoon at Daffodil Plaza's 71 Hall in Dhanmondi, Professor Dr. Syed Akhtar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at DIU, highlighted various aspects of the competition.
The press conference was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, as the chief guest. The session was presided over by Dr. Nadir Bin Ali, Registrar of Daffodil International University.
Also addressing the gathering were Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Allyar, Proctor of Daffodil International University and Head of the Multimedia and Creative Technology Department, and Mr. Rathindranath Das, Executive Director of Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) and the Convener of AI Olympiad 2025.
It was announced that the competition will be held in three levels: the Primary Level for school students wishing to learn about AI, the Secondary Level for HSC and diploma students with basic knowledge of AI, and the Advanced Level for university students, researchers, and professionals.
Organizers revealed that the AI Olympiad will be a universal competition, featuring a project presentation segment where AI-based solutions will be showcased. There will also be a panel discussion with AI industry leaders and workshops to teach the latest AI technologies. Additionally, prizes and scholarships will be awarded to the best AI innovators.
